“Isabelle” is a tale of long hidden secrets, tragedy, horror and nightmares. Cindra is the very young and very silly wife of Garrick, the Baron of Tadhgar. She is also cousin to King Eallair and the Duke Lochan, but responsibilities are the last thing on her mind. But she has to grow up fast when a supernatural being starts stalking her husband in his dreams.

The priest, Father Harndall and the countess, Valeriya have disappeared. There have been rumours of an inappropriately close relationship between the two, sparked by a less than platonic kiss beneath the mistletoe. Garrick is part of a search party sent out to find them, which also includes Radomir, Valeriya’s husband. The people of Mhalwae have been plagued by strange deaths and disappearances.

Arran Barran’s wife Nell was killed by the creature that has been preying on the people. She had run out into the forest after an argument about her inability to fall pregnant.

Isaura, Lochan’s wife has suffered many miscarriages, but she is nearing the end of a pregnancy and the baby is still alive.

Lochan lets her cry – 7th March 1102

Two weeks later

Morven Hwratar suffered greatly through her pregnancy and it was almost certain that she would die in childbirth. She rallied but has not recovered well from her illness. Alexis, her husband will pursue anything wearing a skirt. Varda Inbar has not managed to carry any of her pregnancies to term and still remains childless. Her relationship with her husband Sigurd is strained. Lisbet Arwaduhn only realised her love for her husband Cordell when he lay on his death bed. Since then the two have been inseparable.

Cindra was attacked by the creature that has been preying on the people of Mhalwae, a strange man calling himself Cebrien de Voire. Lochan saved her from her but not before he injured her.

Igrayne, one of the kitchen maids was attacked by the creature Cebrien and his accomplice. She had been the bait in a trap set for the pair which went awry. Cindra visited her when she was healing and asked if she would like to be her maid.
