Two months later

Cindra, Garrick’s wife has gone into labour after they had an argument. Garrick has been haunted with nightmares of his dead sister, Isabelle and it appears he had more to do with her death than he is letting on. If he gets drunk then he doesn’t dream anymore, but Cindra hasn’t been sleeping too well…

Garrick waits – 28th February 1102

The next day

Gena Ulcar, Noah’s wife is blind. She was anticipating the birth of her baby with great joy, though afraid that she might not make a good mother.

Noah goes outside – 29th February 1102

Two and a half weeks later

Gena has not been doing well, overwhelmed with exhaustion from taking care of the baby. Noah has sent for Hepsie, the midwife to see if she can do anything to help.

One and a half months later

Cindra has been attacked by a strange creature, a gentleman known as Cebrien de Voire who tried to bite her. Lochan rescued her but she was injured. Eallair, the King has been struggling with the responsibility of te Kingdom suddenly thrust on him.

Two months later

Lyiss is the sister of the King’s steward, Garald Elmvarn. Nyawe is Garald’s sensual wife who seems to be a bit more than he can handle. Kelgar Shildfrith is one of the castle guards and Maire and Igrayne are kitchen maids.

Lochan’s ill wife Isaura recently gave birth to their first child after many miscarriages, a daughter, Yvaine. Sister Mella, a nun traumatised by the attack on their city, Branwhuld disappeared months ago. The priest, Father Harndall and the Countess Valeriya were attacked and from what they can remember, Sister Mella was their attacker.

Lisbet’s husband, the Knight Cordell Arwaduhn was attacked by a great, black dog, the same as the one Arran saw in the forest when Igrayne was attacked. He was very ill for a time and still has a scar on his face. Cindra has found out the truth about Isabelle, that her husband was responsible for her death and since then their relationship has soured.

Maire has developed quite the crush on Kelgar and she visited him when she was ill, determined to give herself to him. She chickened out at the last minute however. We also learned then that she dreamed of him on midsummer night.

Osras is Polina’s husband and Kelgar’s brother. Both brothers competed for her affection but Osras won. Illewen’s husband, Vance was Kelgar’s friend. Kelgar was standing guard the night Vance was killed, and made a promise to him to watch over his wife and child.

The Earl’s wife, Valeriya confessed to adultery with the priest Father Harndall. But things aren’t exactly as they seem… Since there are no other priests on the island, for now Harndall is still performing ceremonies, though no one feels particularly comfortable about it.
