A star falls
“A star falls” is the ongoing story of forbidden love, rage, violence and desperate longing. Valeriya is a woman trapped in her marriage to the abusive Earl, Radomir. Father Harndall, the only man she can confide in.

Sister Mella, a young, mute nun who is under Harndall’s care and has been behaving very strangely had disappeared the night before.
Harndall does not know what to say – 8th August 1101

Valeriya lights a candle – 17th September 1101
Two and a half weeks later
Sister Mella has disappeared. She went mad after a visit to the ruined churchyard. Radomir accidentally set her free after trying to force himself on her and being thwarted by the attack of an invisible force.
Valeriya listens – 4th November 1101
Three and a half weeks later
Harndall blames himself for Mella’s disappearance. Also, a peasant woman has been killed, strangely human teethmarks found on her neck.

2 months later
Morven Hwratar is ill and has delivered two baby boys but the lives of all three are still in jeopardy. Work has begun on building a church for the inhabitants of Mhalwae.

Sister Mella was taken by a creature calling himself Cebrien de Voire, who bit her and drank her blood. She has been missing for months.

Both Cindra and Garrick have been having frequent nightmares. Garrick has found that if he drinks himself into a stupor, he remains nightmare free.

Darina Rawtharn had also been attacked by the man calling himself Cebrien de Voire.

Cindra, the Baroness is in labour with Hepsie in attendance. Varda has suffered a number of miscarriages since they left for Mhalwae.

A ship carrying refugees from Branwhuld has found its way to Mhalwae. Onboard is Father Earnulf, one of Harndall’s old mentors from the monstery.
