No, he was not, I just realised I didn't clear up that mistake. He was Vance Corstead, a friend of both brothers and also one of the guards but they are not related.

Wait, was Illewen's husband Kelgar and Osras's brother? I'd missed (or forgotten) that piece of information. I agree with the others. There can never be anything between Kelgar and Illewen. I'm all for Kelgar/Lyiss and I'm sure Illewen needs a few years of healing before trying for some romance.

You guys are right... Kelgar has done lot of growing up and is turning into a rather nice guy. I think he has had to grow up seriously fast with all the stuff that is happening to him, but he isn't exactly out of the woods yet.

Illewen is such a mess... I really feel like she is only just holding it together. If one thread breaks she might just unravel. She is lucky in one respect that she has a lot of people who are propping her up right now. We have seen how Pol is trying to help her, but she also has two sisters who are helping with baby and doing as much as they can. One is Tirsey who is married to the stablehand and I can't remember the others name (I will check when I can get access to the other computer... the boy is playing fallout :). The other one is a lady's maid I think.

I might not remember exactly what Kelgar was like when he was first introduced, but if I recall correctly, he was rather immature. He's really grown up since then, hasn't he? Not that he's had much of a choice, the poor guy.

Yeah, I agree with Mao about Kelgar/Illewen. He'll never be able to get past the fact that he watched her husband die, and she'll never be able to get past the fact that he was the one who first told her she was a widow. And then of course I have my Team Kelgar/Lyiss prejudices, naturally. :) But I do see them becoming good friends, and it's nice to see that he was able to reassure her. Kelgar better live to see how everything pans out *cashes in karma*

Aww, Kelgar. You big softie. I know some people are pulling for Illewen/Kelgar, but I don't see it happening. There's a ghost between them and always will be. I'm glad he told her that, though, that he's going to avenge his brother. It seemed to be a small comfort, something she hasn't gotten much of lately.

Now I just hope he survives!
