My emotions are getting so twisted by this whole thing too Karen, and I am the one inflicting it!

It was really weird how Valeriya just stood there being all weird while her husband beat up someone who has been only nice to her. I agree with you Lothere. I think she was being really freaky. I had written a whole long explanation of her behaviour but then I realised that should be part of the story so hopefully when I do a post from her POV soonish it will explain a bit better what is going one. She isn't just broken from Radomir's treatment, she was also injured badly in Mella's attack. It will be an interesting challenge to write from her POV now. She isn't really all there.

Varda is looking guilty... find out why in the next chapter about to be posted in 5 minutes or so (well maybe 15... I need to do a final read).

I think you have a very good point Tiana... if Radomir is ever going to be able to fix himself it appears he isn't capable of doing it in the vicinity of Valeriya. Will he get some distance and somehow redeem himself or just get worse... or something else I really don't know yet. I'm glad you thought of Sigurd. We will get to see him in the next few chapters and see how he handles it.

Yeah Mao, I don't think everyone is going to be too happy about this. It is one thing to beat your own wife in those day (horrible but true, women were nothing but property) but taking your fists to another noble woman was definitely not okay. And it was really bad luck for the poor guy (see look... I feel bad for him... I am not making his life easy) to hit a pregnant woman who happens to have a tendency to miscarry. Ooops.

I think it will be a while before we figure out how Valeriya got pregnant but maybe when the baby comes it will give us some clues.

Radomir's severe anger issues finally come to bite him in the ass! He just punched out a pregnant woman. Oh ho ho, buddy, you're in for it now. I can't see this ending well at all.

I am extremely curious and perplexed at the state of Valeriya. Was she impregnated by that fiendish vampire or is this some kind of trickery? I can't wait to find out, surely.

First, though, Radomir is going to get some serious karma. It's deserved, and he brought it on himself. We'll see if that changes anything in him.

Well Radomir obviously has some issues...I don't know if he's truly redeemable or not though now..I thought for a little while that maybe he was. I think if he truly wants to redeem himself he needs to stay the hell away from Valeriya or any women and sort his shit out. Maybe we will see some real manliness from Varda's husband now, when he finds out...this could be very interesting.

So that encounter with Valeriya and the Father must have been real cause who else could she be pregnant by. Poor girl must be pretty broken, or completely...would be nice to get a chapter from her POV ;)

That was really uncalled-for, Radomir. I'm finding it very hard to feel sorry for him just now.

However, even harder to feel sorry for Valeriya. How broken do you have to be before you can just stand and watch idly as your husband breaks another woman's nose? And stand there and pat your belly while he's doing it?

Whose does she think the baby is? And why is Varda looking so guilty about it? (Or is that just Radomir's jealous interpretation of it?)

I guess an upcoming chapter will turn my feelings for both of them around though. As Karen noticed. ;-)

Man, Radomir is rightly going to have a bunch of angry men after him pretty soon (I hope)! Verity, you do a great job of twisting my feelings about him...everytime I believe there's hope for him, he does something awful and I think, "Ha! Now I can hate you!" and then you make me pity him instead. I love it!
