Oh but snow is so lovely! I am really sad because it hasn't snowed in Sweden yet this winter (not usual) so the dreadful grey raininess of horrible November has extended onwards. And I thought I would be missing it going home to Oz for 6 weeks :(

I must be the only person on the planet who doesn't want a white Christmas! I totally despise everything about snow. So where am I living now? Ohio. Where there's lots of snow. Fortunately, the area where I just bought my house, gets less snow because of it's location on Lake Erie. Thank God my parents don't live in Cleveland! Or say, Buffalo, NY. Or anywhere else that gets tons of lake-effect snow.

Sorry for not replying to your comment for an age Lothere. It is cheap compared to Australia so I guess compared to Canada it is probably even cheaper. I am not sure how the Canadian dollar does against the Australian though.

It is pretty weird looking at stars on the other hemisphere. Definitely a weird experience. And amazing :).

I am thinking more and more about finding a way to bring the sims. I have a work laptop but I don't know if the graphics card is good enough. But I don't think I can survive without them and I waited long enough to get that hardrive so now I am really in the mood for writing again.

We've never been to NZ but it would be the 4th time I've picked up and moved to a place sight-unseen. (Technically moving here to Victoria was not quite sight-unseen since we spent an evening and night here on our way home from Alaska, but all we saw was the Inner Harbour that day.)

We try to live our life by following the signs Destiny sets out to guide us, and so far Destiny hasn't led us far wrong. Some people do research and make plans, some people follow clouds. And who will say who is right? As Alred says, "Poetry is not only something to be written, dear Lili, but to be lived."

I am intrigued to hear that it is cheap to live there, though. I wonder in comparison to what? Australia? It seems like it ought to be expensive since everything has to be shipped by boat. Except for lamb and kiwis.

I am looking forward to seeing different stars. I think that must be mind-blowing to someone who goes around with her head among them most of the time. I've never been farther south than... let me think... Texas. And it will be fun to be around people who speak English with an accent (no, Canadian does not quite count). If that were my only criteria I would have gone to Scotland however. :-D

I hope you can get enough pictures taken to write a bit while you're away so we don't miss too much Mhalwae, but personal experience tells me you wouldn't have time to Sim even if you took them. Real life vacations are busy that way! But it sounds like you should back them up at work before you go... poor Sims stranded six weeks in a building with people setting fires! :-o

Hi. well eventhough England is fameous for it's cold weather all year round, well it's seems like it's all year anyway, it actually doesn't snow that much so I keeping my fingers crossed that it will snow this winter or at least start snowing on christmas day like it used to when I was little.

I hope that you can get your hard drive fixed and that you have a good holiday.

Keep Simming!.

See ya.

Technically it is unfortunately 4 (I have to go down to Melbourne for 2 weeks to work at the uni there). But my family and my boy are going to come too and go sightseeing while I am at work so it isn't too bad at all. And the lady I am visiting to get help with my modelling is really nice so I don't think it will be much like work at all.

I am already starting to have ideas of how to bring the sims with me somehow but I can't decided whether it might be good to have a bit of a break from them. I am worried that if I bring them I will shun my family too much :) I also have a feeling I am not going to have that much free time, running around trying to catch up with everyone while I am there. Hopefully I can at least get some pictures taken so I will have something to write.

Yes the bf is coming too. He has been to Australia once before but that was during the winter (not much of a winter really, it was lovely and sunny and we even went swimming). I have concerns that he is going to melt. He thought it was hot one day during winter. It will be strange stepping off the plane after snow and below zero temperatures into hot Australian summer. I can't wait for a bit of warm weather!

Have you been to NZ before? It is so beautiful there! And they have everything, volcanoes, caves, fiords, fault zones... um... kiwis of three varieties (fruit, birds and locals... see there are some non-geological things too). I really love it. It would definitely be an awesome place to live. And it's quite cheap to live there.

It is strange, even I find it weird to have a warm Christmas in a way, because in all TV shows, books, movies etc it is always cold and snowy at Christmas. So even though I have mostly had warm Christmases (I still haven't managed a white one, it didn't snow last year :( ) I still have this idea in my head that a white Christmas is the way it is supposed to be. Maybe next year *sigh*.

Ooooooh 6 weeks of Christmas vacation! Actually I think it would not be vacation without my Sims. I would be twitching after two days. Even though I could really use a break.

Is the BF going too? Not that it is any of my business, but I wonder whether he has even been to Australia and what he will think about stepping off the plane into summer. We are planning to move to NZ in a year or two or three (our totally arbitrary and rugby-unrelated deadline is before the next rugby world cup) and I am thinking Xmas in the southern hemisphere is one thing that I am going to have difficulty accepting. I am totally a White Christmas kind of girl, even if it only ever rains here in the Pacific Northwest where I live now.
