See my mum really really wanted to have a girl and she had convinced herself she would have a boy instead. She had also managed to completely convince my dad. So when I popped out and the doctor handed me to him he said "is it a boy or a girl?". The doctor said "have a look for yourself". My dad and then exclaimed in horror "my god he's deformed!". The doctor sighed and said "uh no... it's a girl". So it would seem that first time dads are usually complete dorks in some way or the other :D Hehe… when I was born my dad had a bit of a shock. After <i>I</i> was born, my dad picked me up, and no doubt from his blind joy walked into a glass door. :D He loves telling that story (luckily I wasn't hurt, of course, but he was. Headache!). I stayed with him when my sister was born, because I was quite young and not allowed in the birthing room. Engin is going to have his work cut out! This is amazing, Verity! With one fell swoop you have done so many things! Engin's appreciation of Gena may lead to more understanding for her from the couple, and now he'll have to get over her laziness. I just keep looking at photos of her... she is so cute! I have to admit a little sheepishly that she is not the first baby that popped out. I had a second go because the first one was SO ugly and I'm not sure if I want tobe forced to kill the first baby on Mhalwae based on aesthetics. It basically looked EXACTLY like Engin but it was a girl... eeek. So this is the second try... hope I'm not breaking all the rules. She's not the most gorgeous girl on the block but I don't think two such plain looking people should be having a model type child. But a girl Engin... urg. Oh yeah... and I guess Darina isn't exactly bedridden as you'll find out in the next post. Hepsie had to tell her that to get her to take at least some rest (and also to try and MAKE Engin pull his socks up and get to work).
