Mella looks towards the mountains

The moon hung in the sky like a whore from the gallows, her full body displayed to the angry crowds. Mella’s skin glowed like cold alabaster in the moonlight, frozen by the caress of the frigid wind. She did not notice the chill, did not care. She was numb inside, hollowed out, the tools scraping until there was nothing left but an empty shell.

She looked toward the solemn figures of the dark mountains looming in the distance. They reached up towards the moon’s dying figure above, undertakers waiting for her swollen body, waiting for her to sink gently into their ready arms when ropes are loosened.

A small black speck appeared in the distance rising from the foot of the mountains, moving towards her.

The black dog reached her, throwing itself at her feet and whining and panting, desperate for her touch. She knelt down and granted him this, her fingers tangling in the roughness of his thick, black mane of hair. His red eyes gleamed up at her in the darkness, his rasping tongue lolling out of his mouth in ecstasy.

She looked down at him but felt nothing, her soul was a crumpled, rotted thing hiding in some corner of her body and she knew that nothing could redeem her now. God had forgotten his dutiful little Mella praying beside her bed for forgiveness. He would not save her from her fate.

She stood up, the last of her humanity draining away and looked once more towards the distant mountains. Then she began to walk, the black dog at her side.

Hey guys… I wanted this post to be longer and to actually sort of finish this Mella section but unfortunately it took me ages to take the pics. And I want it to be good so I decided to cut it in half again (and didn’t want to leave you with nothing :) So here is a little titbit :) Hopefully the rest will come tomorrow but not sure cause I have a dinner thingy. But soon soon! I promise.

  2. Mao says:

Ahhh, very cool. Where is Mella going? And isn’t ‘conveniently’ hiding naked parts fun? LOL

  3. Lothere says:

“The moon hung in the sky like a whore from the gallows.” Pow! Great job weaving threads of this simile all through the chapter. In the pictures, too, even, one might say.

Poor Mella! It seems like she is getting her sanity back just in time to give up on it. I am dying to see what happens next. Nevertheless I thank you for this teaser.

What is up with the dog? Is he the demon dude’s minion? Or the dude himself?

And no, Mao, it is not FUN! :-D I just did a scene with Druze where I was shooting from on high, and there was nothing — NOTHING — I could put in front of him. I finally pulled a chair back practically into his crotch, and I was thinking “Lame, lame, lame…” the whole time. If I had had an appropriately-colored crammyboy skin that day, you would have been getting the full Druze.

  4. Mao says:

Thank GOD there is not an appropriate crammyboy skin.

I can do without full-on Druze experience, LOL!!

Hi. um I don’t know if she’s got her sanity back yet unless she discovered a new fondness for hanging round in the nude lol!.

Have a good time at you dinner thingy.

I’ll be looking forward to the second part.

    Keep Simming!.

    See ya.

Ah poor Mella. I was hoping she would regain some of her sanity, but it doesn’t seem like that is going to be the case. I wonder what will happen though and I can’t wait to find out who this mysterious tormentor is.

“The moon hung in the sky like a whore from the gallows, her full body displayed to the angry crowds. ”

Yeah, when I saw that, my eyes practically expanded eight centimeters. :P It’s a beautiful simile as far as literary interests go, but it doesn’t sound to . . . erm . . . happy? Yes.

Mella . . . *sob* That dog scares me. It seems like it’s thinking innappropriate thoughts for a ‘T for Teen’ rated game. Plus, Mella must be really possessed/desperate/&c; she’s out there, naked, at night? Eek. Cold. I hope she’ll be okay, but she . . . doesn’t have a promising situation.

Hi guys… sorry to have left you all hanging but there isn’t going to be a post tonight either :( I am going to this workshop outside Stockholm and have to travel for ages each way so I didn’t get back till quite late and then had to organise a holiday (I know it’s a hard life… but actually all this booking hotels and boats and stuff takes sooo long and we had put it off to the point of it almost being booked up). So I am not going to promise but I am really hoping to write a post tomorrow night.

I’m glad you guys liked the post… thanks for the nice comments :) It was kind of nice writing such a short post because for a change I didn’t feel like I was being too repetitive in my imagery and didn’t have to go through checking how many times I had used various adjectives and such.

Hiding naked parts is so much work… I know how you feel Lothere… sometimes there just isn’t anything to use. I agree with Mao… I am glad we didn’t see full crammyboy Druze… erg that would be a bit too much.

Sorry about the inappropriately thinking dog Aithne… I hadn’t really thought of it in that context but yeah… I see what you mean.
