Cindra finds a reason
Cindra stood on deck as the gentle summer breeze caressed her face. It was a beautiful sunny day and she was very glad to get some fresh air. She felt like she had been inside for weeks, dividing her time between her husband and Cordell, helping neither very much.
She had to admit she was not feeling very well. She had a sour feeling in the pit of her stomach that would not go away, not even now when she was finally out of the dark, close air of the sickroom. She breathed deeply to try and get past the nausea, fighting a momentary feeling of panic. She had not thought that perhaps Cordell’s sickness was contagious, had not even considered a possible danger to her and her husband.
Suddenly she felt a desperate urge to vomit, and ran to the side of the ship, heaving over the edge. She stayed there until the waves of nausea finally dissipated and she felt that she had nothing left in her stomach.
This was not good. She could not remember if Lisbet had said whether or not Cordell had experienced these kind of symptoms before he had fallen into a coma. She had been trying to be a good person and now she was probably going to die. She wondered if Lisbet had been feeling ill like this too.
The bile rose in her throat again and she fought against it, not wanting to throw up a second time. Her stomach already ached from dry retching and she wasn’t keen to continue with it. This was terrible. She didn’t want to die. She was too young. She hadn’t even had children yet.
Without warning she began to laugh, a small chuckle that slowly moved its way through her body until it had conquered it completely and she was shaking with tears of mirth rolling down her cheeks. How could she have been such a silly goose.
She realised that she had not bled for the past few months, so many things had happened that she had completely lost track of the days. Now here she was worrying about dying, when the truth of the matter was something wonderful. She clutched her stomach, which was beginning to ache again with the strain of so much laughter.
Unfortunately her stomach was not impressed with the amount of movement, and she had to lean over the ship’s side once more to appease it. She clutched feebly at the railing until finally it passed.
She straightened up, gently releasing her poor abdomen, moving slowly in case the nausea came back again. She seemed to be feeling a lot better, although her stomach was very tender and her sides were aching.
She flopped down onto the deck, somewhat exhausted from her exertions. She could not keep the broad smile from her face as she gazed up at the sunny, blue sky. She was going to be a mother.
It did not seem to matter that so many things were wrong. Her life my have been full of distress and sleepless nights, but right at that moment, Cindra had found a very good reason to be happy.

Hurray for ships!
This chapter was wonderful! I am loving Cindra more and more every time I see her. I still want to pinch her cheeks every time I see her too. I love this line:
“She had been trying to be a good person and now she was probably going to die.”
That is so old-and-new Cindra!
I hope her pregnancy goes well… keep that spooky nun away from her. She seems like the type that is somewhat immune to the island’s maleficence.
That ship is gorgeous! Way beyond my building skills. Do you remember where you got it?
Way beyond my period too. Seen any 11th-century longships anywhere? I downloaded a couple from mts2 which are actually objects, so they might look good on the horizon, but not so practical for sailing on. I could use a nice drakkar or two for next year…
Yay for Cindra! Something good is happening at least.
Oh Cindra, what a cute, silly little girl! But looks like she’ll have some growing up to do now that she’s pregnant. I hope Cordell will be ok, and I agree with Lothere, keep that creep nun away from her, seriously someone needs to check that nun out.
Verity at long last my prologue is up, I hope you enjoy it
Hi. yea! more babies coming. I can’t wait to see what they all look like. well at least Cindra finally has a reason to be happy and I’m sure it will give Garrick some hope too.
I’ll be looking forward to the next episode of Kindom of Mhalwae lol!.
See ya
I’am so happy that Cindra is going to have a baby, I hope everything goes well for her.
Hey everyone…
Lothere… I downloaded the ship (and actually 2 others but chose the one I liked best and fit best with the story) from modthesims2 by V1ND1CARE who does some other lovely lots as well (kind of considering using some for later). Unfortunately none of them are very longshippy… I saw the “sculpture” drakkar on mts2 as well but I guess you already have that one (had to admit I needed to look up drakkar… and I am living in Scandavia too… sheesh… I’ve even seen the ones they had on wiki). Cindra’s cheeks are extremely pinchy aren’t they
Yeah CeeCee… it seems Cindra is the only one who is having something good happen to her at the moment. Oh dear… maybe my blog is too depressing.
I think Cindra has quite a bit more growing up to do before she’s a mum Tiana… she’s only 16. Thank goodness I wasn’t allowed to have a baby back then… I don’t know what I would do if I had one now. I can’t believe you don’t need some sort of license… a baby permit or something
.
I can’t wait to see what they babies look like too Pandora. I bet hers will be supercute with very pinchy cheeks. Hehe… next episode will hopefully be up on Friday… I ran out of pics but I am going home tomorrow… hooray boyf seeing!
Hehe… Devin… you always comment on the babies (or potential babies, in some cases). You must have babies on the brain… I so do! I want the babies of Mhalwae to be born. I need to stop going so slowly
I love children Verity and I can’t wait to see the first child to be born on Mhalwe.
Me either Devin!!!
Yeah another baby lover! And I agree people definitely need licenses to have babies…but then again people have licenses to drive and that still doesn’t always turn out well.
Hi. yep another baby lover here!. um interesting idea guys a license to have a baby but I can see a problem with that and that is the people who hand them out might abuse that power by stopping certian people from having babies coz of race, religion, disabity and any other predijude you can think of.
Hey! that would make a great twilight zone episode though do you mind if I use your baby license idea into a story?.
See ya
Sheesh, I am slow. Darn projects.
BABY!! Woohoo! And Cindra, of all folks… lets hope this one comes to term. Poor babies aren’t fairing well here–they never get to see ‘the light at the end of the tunnel’!
Sure thing Pandora… use away. I didn’t actually really think of the idea myself, but some friends said that when they left the hospital with their newborn baby they felt like someone should be stopping them. They were like “I can’t believe they are just letting us take this thing… don’t we need a license or something”
.
You’re right about the babies Mao… but I plead not guilty on this one… who gets the babies, who miscarries etc is entirely randomly determined. it just happens to have fit my story very well. I am using a script my boyf helped me write based on Lothere’s pregnancy stats (thanks again Lothere
Hi. ok thanks for that. Now I’ve got to figure out how the story going to work!. Are you using a hack to cause the miscaragies or are you just not getting them pregnant and just saying they are?.
Keep Simming.
See ya.
Hi Pandora… I am just not getting them pregnant and saying they are. I guess if I have to do a very late term miscarriage then I will. You can use the insimenator to abort the pregnancy at any time though… I just haven’t bothered because none of them have been showing at the time of miscarriage.
Hi. Thanks for answering my question I knew that you could do some interesting stuff with the Insimenator but I didn’t know you could do that!. maybe I should get round to downloading that at some point if my brother will let me since his laptop is better for playing the sims then my computer.
I’ll be looking forward to your next update.
See ya
Absolutely, a baby license. That would go along with artistic license as dangerous things to be done only by a professional.
Cindra is so . . . Cindra! I was so worried, but that line about helping people only to die made me giggle a bit, and it turned out she was only a mother! Sweet. ^^
Yeah Aithne… I think that line pretty much epitomises Cindra. She means well but she isn’t really all the grown up yet. It is funny comparing her to Hepsie who is the same age but much more mature. Maybe it comes with having to support yourself rather than being part of the Royal family and having everything provided for you (although it is definitely a lot tougher for Cindra on Mhalwae).
Wonderful update! I’m happy to finally be seeing some babies on the way!
I knew you would be Mandie
I’m so happy for Cindra. I hope her baby makes it.
