Hehe... yeah I have to admit that may be the one requirement I have for our desktop compy... it has to be able to run the sims really well. Not as well as yours tho obviously :) but it does a pretty good job. My poor boyfriend... since I moved in with him I have pretty much totally taken over his desktop for sims use... oh well he has his laptop (which he is pretty much umbilicalled to since he is a computer scientist) so he is happy.

Yeah I just redid my whole computer and when I told the guy what I wanted, custom parts wise, I said, "I want to be able to run the Sims 2 VERY VERY well." Once I got them he said, "You'll be able to run the Sims on its highest settings, twice at the same time" That might have been exaggerated on his part but it does run very nicely. And I just wait until I have the perfect shot so I don't have to exit and save all the time. I'm trying to get my story up as fast as I can but it takes so long to build sets!

No I haven't tried that Tiana. Wow... it seems like a lot of effort though. Is that what you do? You are one seriously dedicated storyteller :). I can't wait to see what your making! You'll find the pics get better soonish because I started using picasa to resize. I think my game takes so long to load after I switch to desktop I would never get to write my blog at all... do you have a super-fast compy? Thanks for the advice tho... if I ever need some really high quality pics now I'll know how to get them :).

Have you tried taking them with Printscreen instead of in game? The picture quality when you take them with printscreen is like a thousand and twelve times better. But you have to minimize your window after each picture and paste it into a photoshop program, cause you can only printscreen one pic at a time and then then next time you hit printscreen it replaces it with another pic...kind of complicated but great pictures!

I know what you mean Carrie... it seems like such an effort to resize all the pictures.

Thanks for the advice Lothere... it sounds like maybe both me and Carrie could use an easy fix for the images (although I really think Carrie's images look wonderful so maybe I am just being too pedantic about mine... then again all your images are so detailed and well set out Carrie, with so much happening so you really can't tell you haven't resized them). I hadn't even thought about just taking the medium sized images instead =). I guess it would prolly work fine on this page but I will do some tests and check. Unfortunately I have taken a whole lot of pictures for future posts already so I will check out google and see if I can find one of these easy resizing tools.

I simply take all my pictures at the medium size in the game so I don't have to resize. They come out at 300x400 pixels in size, which is actually a little smaller than what they are being resized to above. It probably wouldn't be resized in the browser if they're slightly too small, but I don't know how WordPress handles that, since I put my images in manually. But if it's not important to you to have the ability to click on the image to get the full size, you might just try that.

As far as resizing the images, there are lots of free tools that let you resize images without opening them one-by-one in an editor. Some are as easy as a right-click in Windows Explorer and resize. (If you're using Windows, that is.) So you can select a whole bunch of images and resize all at once. Just search "image resizing tool" in Google and you'll get a ton.

Thanks heaps Mao... I will try that out... I have been getting so annoyed with the fuzzy edges =(.

I really love that dress too... actually I am so happy with Madlenka... I love the hairdo and the eyes too. I have to say I have a bit of a thing for making sims with red hair and green eyes (maybe it's just cause I wish I had that =).

I crop and then resize in Photoshop. That will keep them from getting distorted. :)

Madlenka is so lovely! I adore her dress. I can't wait to see what's so funky about this island.

Hey anyone reading this. I am having a bit of trouble with the quality of the pictures as you might have noticed... it seems that the window is resizing them so they don't look as good. Do any of you other bloggers have a solution to this, since everyone's elses images look fantastic? I am a bit new to this whole thing so I guess it is going to be a bit of a learning curve, I hope you don't mind coming along for the ride with me =). My boyfriend said maybe I could resize them in photoshop. Is that what everyone else does? Or is there an easier way?
